Refund Policy for The Peter Claver Foundation
Effective Date: 16 May 2025
At The Peter Claver Foundation, we deeply value the generosity of our supporters. As a charitable organisation, we operate with transparency and integrity, ensuring that your donations are used effectively to support our mission.
This Refund Policy outlines the circumstances under which we may offer refunds for donations made through our payment channels, including credit/debit card (via Stripe), bank transfer, and cheque.
1. Donations Are Generally Non-Refundable
Donations made to The Peter Claver Foundation are typically considered irrevocable charitable contributions and are non-refundable. This is because your donation may be immediately used to fund our charitable activities.
2. Exceptional Circumstances for Refunds
However, we understand that there may be exceptional situations where a refund may be requested. These include:
Duplicate donation (accidental repeat payment).
Incorrect donation amount due to user or technical error.
Fraudulent transaction (e.g. unauthorised use of your card or bank details).
Technical issues with the donation process.
To request a refund, please contact us within 14 days of the donation date, and we will investigate promptly.
3. Refund Process
To request a refund, please email us at thepeterclaverfoundation@gmail.com with the following details:
Full name
Date and amount of donation
Method of donation (e.g., Stripe, bank transfer, cheque)
Reason for the refund request
Proof of donation (e.g., confirmation email, bank statement)
Refunds will be processed via the original payment method wherever possible.
Stripe: Refunds for card payments will typically be processed back to the original card within 7–10 working days.
Bank Transfer/Cheque: You will be asked to confirm your bank details, and we will process the refund within 10 working days once approved.
4. Bank Fees and Charges
If a refund is approved, please note that any transaction or banking fees already incurred may be deducted from the refunded amount, unless the refund is due to an error on our part.
5. Disputes and Final Decisions
We aim to deal with refund requests promptly and fairly. The Peter Claver Foundation reserves the right to refuse a refund if:
The request is made after 14 days of the donation.
The donation has already been allocated to a charitable project.
The donation was made knowingly and voluntarily without technical error.
All decisions regarding refunds will be made at the discretion of the Foundation’s management and are final.
